The LaymansTech Blog
Navigating the world of technology can be a daunting task. With a plethora of technologies and applications available these days and paradigm shifts that seem to be taking place on a monthly basis it is easy to get lost in a realm where fancy acronyms and technical jargon abound. Whatever happened to plain English? These days navigating this stuff is difficult and time consuming. So, we have created a guide to a hodgepodge of cool technical applications to hopefully give you as much context as possible for different ways technologies can be used and provide you some incite to all the cool stuff that is out there. Even if you don’t jump in and use any of these applications yourself we hope to keep you at least captivated and/or interested, don’t blame us if your dinner conversation turns a bit more geeky…
With all of that in mind LaymansTech hopes to establish some order to the giant technology melting pot by showcasing only the cool ways everyday people are using technology so you don’t drown in the extraneous stuff and can freely discover the technical gems that are out there. Maybe order is the wrong word as technology is so broad and we don’t want to limit our scope but hopefully we narrow down the good stuff enough so you can discover something relevant to you!
If you would like to share your creative use of technology, or just share something cool, new and exciting get in touch with us here.
Hello from Russia!
Can I quote a post in your blog with the link to you?
Yes, please do. Thanks for the publicity!
Hi,
Good post though think you may want to omit the enabling of “Respond to Ping on Internet Port ” this is most likely not needed in this setup, and really pose’s as a Security Risk due to it now physically repsonding to outside requests.
Still as i said good post and is pretty much exactly what I did to set it up, however I’m not yet able to live stream withough it being very jittery (using x.x.x.x:port#/flashlib) or having to first download the media (slooow)
Thx,
Bones
Yo this article blew my mind!!! The terminator music is off da chain to listen to while I read this singularity stuff.
Nice website, I was doing a little internet snooping and happened onto your blog, I used to be wondering if you knew your blog is displaying strangely within the K-mellon internet browser. I will see everything but the graphics are one way or another out of whack. Probably not a massive issue since hardly nobody uses it anymore however I am old school and still run it.
Nice post. That will be very useful.
Hey, I read all your posts, keep them coming.
It’s not *just* tap water, Brian, it’s ACTIVATED! I’d forgotten what Bill Nye was like until I saw this video. Maybe we could get rid of bodily cleaning products, just spray in your mouth and swish for 30 seconds (Listerine 2.0). Seriously though, if they could make this cheaper and slightly mod the design (if the tech can handle that kind of fluid throughput), maybe it could be mounted on a showerhead like a PUR water filter on the kitchen faucet.
